I've been having fun trying to decode using these two links:

I have no idea what BSCF stands for though...something County Fire?  Where's Alan Turing when you need him?

I just came in from Victorville.  A lot of southbound 15 traffic is exiting Main St./Phelan Rd. west to Beekley to 138 to get back to the 15.

Got home from the 15 north and it started to back up a little past Cleghorn...but it's probably worse now.  The 138 headed west was pretty good, going at 55 mph, some areas slower.

Phelan road from the 15 was a nightmare! stop and go traffic all the way. We took Neilson road which didn't help. Backed up traffic at Beekly. I am sure the 138 is a nightmare too...

I was going to go to the Farmers Market from Phelan/Pinon Hills, but Phelan Road is backed up to Stater Bros. heading that way.

Trying to help a fellow employee who's caught in the SB 15 traffic.   Since I am not all that familiar with the back ways, would like to pass it by the good folks here to see if it is doable.

Suggested taking Bear Valley east to I Ave then south to Ranchero then west to Summit Valley then south to 138 then west back to the 15.

Will this work ?

Thanks in advance.

Bob

He's currently on Bear Valley, east of the 15.   Stopped to get fuel, both for his service truck & his body (just in case...)

thanks.

A collegue just went that direction-it is a dangerous twisty windy raod and traffic was bumper to bumper. If your collegue really needs to get down the hill, perhaps taking hwy 18 to 247 through palm desert would be a better way....long, but it will get the job done....if he has a smart phone google maps has a free app with navigation...

I just came through Phelan to get home from Hesperia. There is heavy traffic on all roads over the 15-Bear Valley and Main are unbelievable. Traffic is bumper to bumper on Phelan rd and is bumper to bumper all the way to 138. Flames a very visible from Phelan rd. My better half has reported the same traffic issues on Palmdale rd headed in our direction. Everyone was awesome with the merging insane traffic situation coming up Beekley to 138-all told it took me 1.5 hrs to get home when it usually takes 30 minutes....get comfy out there everyone and keep those in the fire's path in your thoughts and prayers.

Hi Jules,

Yup.  On google maps it looks 'interesting'.   Good idea about the 247 route.  Thanks.

Oh...  his phone is one of those company issued ones...  non-smart.

So is the 15 south open at the 138? If I needed to go down the hill can I get on the 15 south there?

My friends are on the 18 to 247 to 62 to the 10 route and its smooth sailing...or 18 through big bear and down the other side is an option as well...

Looks like he's going to try Summit Valley.   They're currently at In-and-Out.   Will let you know how it goes.

Thanks for your assistance.   Very much appreciate.

Per Terri Kasinga at Caltrans, they hope to open 3 lanes of the southbound 15 within about an hour.

Had a interesting ride came Lyttle creek over applewhite down to the tracks went along the tracks tell Sworthout and ran into a Union Pacific Officer that said I was trespassing on railroad property he said you cannot drive between 15 and 30 feet from the tracks but he did let me continue up the canyon to lonepine

Anyone hear if the 138 is open from Summit Valley west-bound to the 15 ?    When they stopped to get a bite, someone said cars were being turned around.

Thanks again for the great assistance.
