Victorville Police Department arrested the suspect wanted in connection to the armed robbery of Yum Yum Donuts in November
On November 9, 2012, at approximately 3:24 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station were dispatched to an armed robbery at the Yum Yum Donuts located in the 14500 block of 7th Street in Victorville.
Upon arrival, deputies were advised that an unknown suspect entered the business and asked for a cup of water. When the employee's back was turned, the suspect brandished a knife and demanded money from the cash register. The employee feared for her safety and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money from the register. Employees at the business have seen the subject in the area recently and believe he may be a local transient. The subject was described as a white male in his mid to late thirties, approximately 5'9" tall last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, tan pants and black shoes.
On March 22, 2013, following an extensive investigation, deputies received information regarding the whereabouts of Ricky Rodriguez. Rodriguez had been identified as the suspect involved in the armed robbery that occurred at Yum Yum Donuts in November.
Deputies responded to the area of 7th Street and La Paz Drive and conducted an area search for Rodriguez. They located him a short time later and he was taken into custody without incident.
Rodriguez was transported and booked into the Victor Valley Jail on a felony charge of PC 211(a)Armed Robbery and is being held on $200,000 bail.
