I saw her... real class act. She is obviously running late getting a kid to school, and she was wearing her cute little jam jams.

This is the same Jeep that I saw this morning at the school. She was dropping her child off. She decided not to clear the snow off her windshield and drive with her head out the door.
WOW--this person must be quite flexible. Just think, first they had to pull their head out of their butt and then crane their neck out the door to drive! What's next? Circus Soleil?

Green don't mean GO! Try waiting a few seconds before you pull out....
Sitting at the H2 and 138 intersection today, I had my light turn green for a left turn towards Phelan. I watched a small car followed by a double trailer big rig blow right through my green light (their RED light). I sat there another second or two just to be sure the traffic on the 138 was actually going to stop....

I'm with you on that Hillbilly!! I almost always get a honk if I am the first car at a light for just the same reason. The high desert seems to be a very popular place for semi trucks to blow through their red lights, I have seen it many times. A semi will blow his horn from about a half mile back, and then just fly through his red light - 395 and Main is a popular place for this behavior, but have also seen it at Beekley and 138. I am very slow away from an intersection now!

I have seen that at the 395 too. Big rigs blowing their horn running the light. It's crazy....

Big rigs can't stop very fast, the little car probably didn't want to get run over by the big rig, it could have pulled over tho'.
Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. Be careful out there.

Hey, you moron driving a white Ford Explorer this morning down Lone Pine Canyon with your neon-bright snowboards atop your car. When you reach the end of Lone Pine Canyon at Highway 2, the stop sign means STOP, not slow down enough that you can look both ways and blow the intersection. You didn't have enough time to really look both ways. Luckily, no one was hurt by your actions...this time. It's too back this "shortcut" is even open to snowplayers.
As for the intersection of 138 and 2, I agree with you guys, too many cars just blowing that stop light. Sometimes, these trucks may have used this before and didn't know until the top of the hill that "oops" there is a light. I wonder if CalTrans can put any additional warning signs further ahead of the intersection to provide more warning?
However, if they are coming from the north headed south, there is no excuse, because that direction is SO PLAINLY VISIBLE.

To the wildly gesticulating woman (driving the opposite way) who had a problem with me waiting patiently in the turn lane to enter Jensen's parking lot this afternoon... Please get back on your meds. It will be better for eveyone.

I don't understand. If she was driving the opposite direction, why would she care about you sitting in a left turn lane?

Because she was going to use the lane that Nolena was in to pass slower cars in front of her. I've encountered that. A person wanting to go to the gas station (or McGrath's) or Village Video and they wanted to be in the lane I was using to make a left into Jensen's. Too bad.

I saw this same car doing exactly the same thing about two years or more ago. Looks like no one has found out where he lives. If I knew I'd go up to the door and have a talk with him. Obviously this is the behavior he exhibits alot and for a long time now. It's time he changes his ways. I saw something VERY disturbing today at approx 4:25 PM while headed toward Phelan. An older, white BMW with the plate xxxxxx was driving (or I should say swerving) in front of me on HWY 2. Numerous times the car swerved completely into the oncoming lane, even into the shoulder on the other side of the road, tossing beer bottles out the window. When we stopeed to yield at 138 & 2, I observed the driver reach into the back seat and grab another beer. I followed this car (in front of the high school where children/runners were still present) while talking to CHP, watching the driver throw a total of 10 Coors Light bottles out, aiming at road signs. There were 3 males (age appx 17-20) and the driver had short brown hair (looked like a buzz cut grown out). This IS a resident of Wrightwood, I have seen this car before. My concern is the danger he is placing us all in. This behavior is unacceptable, and these children need some serious help NOW before we lose one of our own children to his carelessness. If you know this child or his parents, PLEASE SAY SOMETHING to them. I can't imagine this is a one time thing. In the last 2 days I have seen 3 accidents on HWY 2 during commute hours. It is dangerous enough, we do not need to add alcohol to the equation. Wrightwood, you are in my prayers.

Not only does he drive like a fool, it appears he likes to beat up on girls. This is the same kid who got hauled off to jail last night for domestic violence..... Parents of daughters. Don't let your girls date jobless guys who sit around and drink beer all day! It's just not a good mix...

I have followed people who have thrown out cigarette butts and I follow them home, get out of my car and approach them and say very nicely that our forests are so dry that any spark could cause a fire and ask them nicely not to throw their butts out in the future. I have done this several times and have yet to be met with someone who is nasty. They usually stand there with a stupid look on their face and say "Uh, ok". I am sure I will get chastised for this, but last night I was coming back after a long drive home, up Highway 2, behind a Blue Astro Van, and the guy flicked a lit cigarette/cigar out of his window!! right at the area of the Levels. It rolled towards the edge of the highway, emitting sparks... I was incensed! (so to speak) I followed the guy home, (i think) to a home on Twin Lakes. I have the address, and his license plate number. Now, what do I do with this information? I know I can't post it here, and what he did was completly idiotic, and could have been horrific.

old green four runner, you followed me down from Mt. High and when I stopped to wait my turn to get into the sport shop parking lot you decided you would whip around me, never mind the fact that I was waiting for the car to pull out of the parking lot and so was the person headed the other direction so they could turn in there too. But you are obviously more important than the rest of us next time try a little patience or at the very least obey traffic laws! YOU IDIOT!

Hey you moron driving a...... Blue pickup. Went by me so fast, I couldn't make out the make or model. Granted this was at the turn lane of Hightway 2 and the Church near the new Mountianeer Progress office, and the road was dry and great visability, but trying to go around three regular vehicles and three tractor trailers over double yellows is just stupid. The only bright side I saw would be if had caused an accident (with the on-coming traffic, it was very possible), I might have been finally able to try out my cpr training, although I will be the first to admit I would probably be a bit rusty and might even crack a couple ribs when I administered chest compressions

Hey you morons driving the following vehicles... What makes you think that is alright to park sticking out into Sheepcreek just because you are too lazy to shovel your driveway? And WHAT ON EARTH makes you think that it is okay to just park in the middle of the road like this? It is a danger to the people who have to slow down and stop or swerve out of the way to avoid hitting your cars. Get them out of the road!

Contact the CHP, any vehicles impeding the flow of traffic can be cited and towed away. This should lighten the owner's wallets to the tune of several hundred dollars and result in a beneficial behavior modification.

I really, really enjoy how you look on the bright side, BostonBob. And I agree wholeheartedly. If they want to break the law, give them the full benefit of doing it.

Sticking out like that is so dangerous especially on Lone Pine. And to expect everyone to swerve and go around you is just plain selfish. For heaven's sake, if you are going to dig out your driveway, dig out that extra foot so you can get your vehicle into your driveway and out of the street.

That sounds like the neighborly way to handle it in a small community. Contact the CHP, any vehicles impeding the flow of traffic can be cited and towed away. This should lighten the owner's wallets to the tune of several hundred dollars and result in a beneficial behavior modification.

That's true, but in a small community we also report folks that skip out on Jury Duty. Everyone should pull their own weight.

You're time would be better spent in the community where you can reap the rewards of your efforts. Call the CHP,, they probably won't show up anyway If he stays parked with his rear out in the road for very long the CHP can write an accident report if and when he shows up.

Haha, well I just drove by a little while ago, and the owner of the truck that was sticking out into the road got of their rear and shoveled their driveway. The truck is now safely parked out of the street. Maybe this thread does work!
