is there any other incidents out there right now? I just had a friend call from Phelan and say that she could see a large plume of smoke. But she wasn't sure exactly where it was coming from said could have been near the 15 or towards Hesperia or even Big Bear.

There is a fire called the Thurman incident that started at 1:30 this afternoon. The fire started about 2 miles from Highway 38.

As of 5pm:
Fire is between 100 and 150 acres. Voluntary evacuations for Angelus Oaks Mandatory evacuation for the Loch
Levin Conference Center Forest Falls and Mountain Home Village
are within the road closure area, but are not under any evacuation orders.

One firefighter has been injured Evacuees are headed upbound Highway 38 toward Big Bear. Highway 38 will remain closed until,
at least 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, possibly longer.
