I have DirecTV Stream and it works well for me. Everything comes via your internet, UIA in my case and presumably Race in yours. Of course, the price is always going up but that seems to be the  case for all tv services.
More info at https://www.directv.com/stream/

For the same number of channels, Race is a better deal.
In 2014 when I moved, I decided that I was not going to buy cable or satellite TV.  I would cut the cord and go 100% streaming.

I have zero regrets.

What changes is how you watch TV.  Anything with traditional "channels" means you watch the show that's on the channel.  If you want to watch something that comes on at 8:00pm, you watch at 8:00pm.  Anything with channels seems to be more expensive.

SlingTV, AT&T/DirectTV, even Hulu and YouTube offer what is essentially Cable.

Amazon has a pretty awesome streaming service, which is included in Prime.  They've just rebranded their free service (used to be IMDBtv).  Both of these have traditional TV shows and movies.

If I want to watch the World Series or the Olympics, I may sign up for SlingTV, $30/month, but no contract, so one month and I'll cancel.

For local news, I watch KTLA and can get KABC (and probably the others too) for free.

Half-a-dozen ways to get HBO, Showtime, etc., usually about $12/month or so.

I'm really close to signing up for Disney+, at least long enough to binge-watch their Star Wars related shows.

Race TV seems very expensive to me.
