Fire Hydrants - Dig them out NOW!

(1/2) > >>

Elk:
Is the fire hydrant on your street accessible if there was a structure fire or other need?

There are reports that some of our local firefighters from SB Co Fire Station 14 have been out in the community digging out a few of the hydrants but it is impossible for them to get to every one.

What if your house catches fire and there is no water for the firefighters? Do your part and dig out the hydrants on your street now.

The image below gives some guidelines on how much space is needed around and in front of the hydrants.

Nolena:
Nice graphic!!

Dig yourself out, and then dig your local hydrant out! House fires don't run on schedules.

KW:
I know we have one at the corner but not sure exactly where, and the berms are huge. Are there any maps of their locations, or guidelines on how far in they are, etc?

cedar:
There are tall posts next to the fire hydrants, if they haven't been covered by berms!!!

The poles are painted yellow and may have blue reflective tape on them
