The Wrightwood Post Office was broken into last night (again)

Wrightwood Post Office Break-In March 2024 - Please share these far and wide. The PO has flyers you can take as well. Note that you can see a lot of the man's face in the first image. In the second image, one of the men took off their mask/hat and you can see his partially shaved head/hairline. The Post Office is working on getting additional security measures in place. Yes, mail was stolen but it's not clear exactly what. Some packages and some mail from boxes in the back were taken. They appeared to have been scared off, potentially by headlights, and left quickly out the back, so if you came to the post office that night please let the staff know if you saw anything.

Well I guess it’s nice that they now have cameras to document the event, but maybe they really need an alarm system that sounds a siren and/or calls authorities.

What we need is a donut shop near the post office.

When I spoke with the staff on Tuesday, they said they didn't know the actual time of the break-in because there had been a power outage and the clock on their cameras had not been reset. So they were trying to figure it out based on the length of time the power was out.

Something I don't understand: the cost of a GPS module is about $10.  That's competitive with having some kind of hand-controller and buttons to set the time.  There is also WWVB radio clocks and of course network time.

It seems that the security camera manufacturers save money and advertise self-setting clocks.

This should also have a UPS.

Just to clarify, GPS is an awesome way to get very accurate time.  Cell towers have GPS receivers just to synchronize time on the network.
