Snakes are active in town

Wrightwood:
This beautiful 4 foot Gophersnake was inches from my hand when I noticed it while picking up trash this afternoon.

Gophersnake, also known as bullsnake, is large non-venomous snake that belongs to the colubrid family. ... People often confuse gopher snakes with rattlesnakes and kill them in self-defense (even though they are harmless).

Check the end of the video as the snake is checking out lupines that have not bloomed.

Well rats, all I get is a black box and a message that my browser doesn't recognize the video format available, and I don't know how to fix that.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

Jim Wilkins:
I helped a neighbor out several years ago when they called and said they had a rattlesnake in their yard.  When I took my snake grabber and bucket up to relocate, discovered it was a little Gopher snake coiled, and shaking it's tail while making a hissing noise with it's mouth.  I shared how important they are in controlling Rats and Mice and we watched him move away back into the planter.  We have a number of them on our property, including the elder stateman....a very thick one that is close to 4.5 feet.

Yes, it does now.  Thanks!  Beautiful snake.
For some reason, the link didn't work for me last night.  Operator error?   ;D
