From SCE:
I am reaching out to provide information regarding an outage that took place yesterday 5/10 impacting customers in Wrightwood. The outage impact in Wrightwood stemmed from a CHP (car hit pole) near the corner of SHEEP CREEK RD and NIELSON RD in Phelan on the DICE CIRCUIT. The DICE CIRCUIT is the feeder circuit into Wrightwood. SCE crews had to de-energize the DICE CIRCUIT to support the emergency CHP outage. The Wrightwood Sub was de-energized for approx. 25 minutes. Final repairs to this equipment will be delayed and incorporated into this week's planned overnight outage.
As a reminder, there is a separate planned outage taking place this week for grid hardening work that customers received dear neighbor letters with additional information and is also reflected in our outage center updates. As shared, for the work taking place from 5/12-5/19, our team prioritized bundling the work into a large week-long project to reduce outage fatigue and expedite grid hardening efforts that include: replacing multiple power poles, installing switches, and covered conductor.
The customers are only expected to experience two outages related to this work: The first on 5/12/26 from 1AM – 6AM as SCE customers are transitioned from circuit power to generator power. These customers will remain on backup generation for approximately one week. The second outage will be on 5/19/26 from 1AM – 6AM as SCE customers are transitioned from backup generator power to normal circuit power.
I also encourage the community to utilize the outage center to check the status of an outage, estimated restoration time or report an outage using your address, outage number or meter number
