It would be nice if CSD would take part in this event and either host or sponsor it.

Technically the CSD is now in charge of taking care of and maintaining Veteran's Memorial Park. So in a sense they do host it.

Here is Tom Pinard's, Captain, US Navy, Retired, reply which he has asked me to post in response to the comment suggesting the CSD take responsibility!  These events hosted by the Wrightwood Veterans Memorial organization are done by volunteers who organized the Veterans Memorial.  Although It rests on property owned by the community, and administered by the WW CSD, the Memorial, which used no public funds only private donations, and the two events scheduled throughout the year are under the control of the Wrightwood Veterans' Memorial, a 501.c.3 organization.  The WVM is responsible for the organization and presentation of Memorial Day and Veterans' Day events each year.  The WVM seeks no public funds or effort to do this.
