Increased Native Animals in Town

It is rather likely that we will experience an increase in wildlife in town, due to the destruction of their habitat by the recent fire. Putting out water for them could help. Also, keep cats and small dogs inside, as larger predators may also be around.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

We are thinking the same... my camp being much closer to the fire area near Mile High/Largo Vista, I filled a couple 5 gallon buckets and left them out in open areas.

I read where there was a Mountain Lion in a tree at R-4 and 20th East in Palmdale last week. It looked hungry.

I quit taking water up to the guzzler a mile away from my house a few years ago. Now the Deer and other wildlife come up on my porch and drink out of my fish pond.  My small dogs have passed over the rainbow bridge so I'm no longer concerned about drawing predators to my house.  In all the years I have had the game cam I have never seen a Mountain Lion or Bear.  My neighbors claim to have seen them but I flat don't believe them as I would think I would have captured a photo.

You'd be more likely to catch a bear if you pointed the camera at a dumpster.  There was a bear that was a regular in Mt. Baldy.  After spotting him/her once I took my wife back to the same spot at a similar time a couple days later.  She was skeptical it would be there (I was a little too)...but there it was.  I don't think Baldy uses the same spot for collecting trash any more.
