it doesn't matter evidently the chp doesn't answer their 911 phone when it rings..
CHP: 911 Call Response Lagging; Hang-Ups Rising
SACRAMENTO (AP) -- California Highway Patrol dispatcher response times have slowed over the last few months, with many call centers reponsible for answering cell phone calls to 911 falling short of national standards.
CHP statistics show that, perhaps because of the delay, cell phone callers waiting for a dispatcher to answer hung up twice as often in March as they did in January. Records show over 177,000 calls accounting for nearly 26 percent of all calls to the CHP hung up before a dispatcher could answer.
