Beautiful pictures!  How much snow did they get up there?

Beautiful pictures!  How much snow did they get up there?

I'd say 4 to 6 feet around Crowley and Tom's Place.  The town of Mammoth probably ended up with 7 to 10 feet.

My buddy is remodeling his cabin in Sunny Slope across from Tom's Place.  His cabin is about a mile off the 'plowed' Owens Gorge Rd. I helped him bring in construction supplies today and got a kick out of seeing how much weight we could load on the snomo..   That's a 80lb table saw in the first photo..

That bump to the right of the snomo is Tom's propane tank.

Tom's cabin.. not to be confused with Tom's Place ;) and not the same Tom.

Tom's happy drinking beer instead of hiking each box in one at a time.

Stuck!  Lucky for me part of the deal was Tom had to help dig if we got stuck.

Looks as if you guys were having fun!  Also looks very cold - brrrrr.....  And you weren't even wearing jackets!   :o   A little too frosty for me, but it sure is beautiful.  Thanks for sharing the pics.

When I work outside in the snow, I don't wear my jacket.   Jackets limit my mobility and when I work, I get hot and end up taking it off anyway.   I've been known to shovel snow in my shorts and a t-shirt and I'm happy as a lark.

Those pictures and the landscape are gorgeous.  I can't imagine 4 to 6 feet of snow.   I'd have to dig out my kids.

No jackets required... If you look closely you'll see two portable heaters strapped on the rack of the sled.  The heaters look a lot like shovels ;)  we had to use the heaters twice after getting stuck in the snow.

Yesterday afternoon we rode from Tom's Place across the Owen's Gorge Rd. to the Benton Crossing Rd.  We stopped by my friend Dave's cabin and had a few beers before heading out.

Where are the ski runs?  On the other side of the mountain, from the angle at which these pics were taken?  Do you know what the elevation is at the top?

Tom's place and the othe Tom's cabin would both be some miles from Mammoth.

The ski runs are visible in this shot above.

Top of Mammoth is 11,029 or so; if memory serves me well.
