While driving by Apple Tree CG at approx 7:00 am I was stopped by contactors doing work for USFS and informed of a tree on fire above the CG.
Upon further investigation we found a tree that I believe someone set on fire last night. The tree had burned through and fallen over and was still burning with open flames.
ANF , LA County and SB County all responded and were taking care of the problem as I left.
THANKS fire fighters from all agencies.

Patrol 101 back in quarters

During our patrols, AppleTree Campground is notorious for people having large or illegal out of the fire ring campfires.
They often drag 6 to 8 foot logs across the fire in an attempt to burn it from one end to the other, feeding it into the fire as they go.
ANF was dispatched on a similar incident just this past weekend.
