It's a good day to check on the house-bound, elderly, and infirm. Make sure they have what they need.

Thanks for the reminder...Leaving out now to shovel out my neighbor Dick Home and make sure they have everything.

Would you come over here next?
Just kidding!

If we could get over there, we probably would. ;)
Brought some medicine over to the Homes and have a team working on the driveway.
After digging out then launching into "The Berm" last night 4 times to get home, my arms are so tired I can hardly lift my coffe cup this morning.....maybe I'll try something lighter like a beer. ;D
Hanks Hydrant is just going to have to wait!!!

Last time I saw, the Homes' driveway was still packed with snow. Nothing shovelled.

I wouldn't encourage everyone to check on their neighbor. Remember the talk Sgt. Copley had to make with BB for checking (peeping) on his female neighbor? We almost had to bail him out.
Fortunately Wrightwood had some dirt on the Sheriff's Department and called a favor (arm twisting).
Other than this problem, it is a very good idea to help your neighbors.

Chuck, I came by to check on you guys since your's at our end of town and you are so old and infirm.
Tell Cathy I liked the lingerie she had on. Boy is the hillside slippery!
-
Sorry to disappoint you, but that was me wearing the Lingerie! Kathy likes to wear overalls to bed.

I hope Dick and his wife are doing well. I saw him often at the Village Grind, and I could depend upon him for good conversation and great stories...

Noone could get through the berm with shovels...it was too icy. Like concrete. We called 3 different tractor operators to dig him out from Saturday on and finally got one there on Wednesday. We checked in daily as did alot of folks and brought them in things until they could get the car out.
Everytime one of the tractors headed over towards his house, someone would flag them down and get them to do their driveway. Hopefully we have it set up now that when more than a foot falls a tractor will just automatically come by and clear it.

All my flatland city dwelling friends always ask me "What happens when you are too old to take care of all your snow on the driveway?"
I just reply, that by then I hope I will have been here long enough that I can get the the help I will need. This is what Wrightwood is all about! Many a time I have been outside shoveling and had local Mormon missionaries come by with shovels and ask me if they can help. I always just send them to someone I know needs the help more that I do, and thank them for their offer.
