7/03 1645 Ridge (CA-BDF-00134) Fire started at 1334 hrs. this afternoon 2 miles NE of Yucaipa and 2.8 miles ENE of the intersection of Hwy 38 and Bryant St. in heavy brush and moving towards Yucaipa Ridge. Temperatures during initial attack were in the low 100's, RH's around 15% with Westerly winds 8-10mph with gusts up to 15mph. The fire rapidly spread to 50 acres within 30 minutes of the start. By 1635 hrs. fire was burning at a medium rate of spread uphill in heavy brush to an approximate size of 200 acres.
