Okay all you new hams, time to start serving with those skills.
The AC-100 is September 13th and we need folks to get a feel for what ham radio communications is all about. A few of you did this two years ago and this time we need to staff two check points.
Inspiration point and Vincent Gap.
Inspiration starts at 06:00 and goes about 4 hours.
I am waiting on a time commitment for Vincent. But you can sleep in longer.
This is a great opportunity to do some real ham radio for an event where ham radio is truly a crucial component.
e mail me clint@wrightwoodcalif.com if you are interested.
Thanks

AC-100 run see here: http://www.ac100.com/
Your absolutely 100% correct.... getting new Hams to participate in events like this is a great learning experience of how to handle messaging traffic. After getting my first License as a Tech... I got invloved with working Air Fair ground communications.
If it were not for volunteering for my first event I wouldn't have ever met Mrs. Toolman....AKA Lagomorph ;)

Well, I'm a brand new ham, thanx to Clint's class, but I'll be in Portland, OR from 9/10-9/16. I don't even know how to use the radio here yet, let alone in another state. I just got my radio today, and it's on the charger as I type. I don't know anything about it yet. So, I'll be useless for this event, but, maybe next year, hopefully after I've learned something?

This site will go a long way in keeping you connected to other hams as you travel.

Learn about didgipeaters!
The AC-100 needs someone to go along on Friday and set up the digipeater at the Frost Radio site.
All sorts of interesting opportunities here.
