Title: What's your gas bill running this summer?
Post by: samsonite on Aug 19, 08, 05:31:11 AM
With just 3 people, an electric stove and obviously no heat, my gas bill is $59.66 this month.

What is yours running?

Mine was $29.54, but we were gone for about 12 days. We also have 3 people, so you use about the same as us. The only gas we use in the summer is the stove and the hot water heater; oh, and the clothes dryer too!

Me and the kid in my apartment, and my bill is about $30.00 a month. My electric is insanely low, but I don't want to say what it is because someone would probably call them and say something... ;D

$16.08

Don't forget about your gas dryer and make sure that your water heater is set at 120 degrees or less.

Does a pilot light for an old floor furnace use much gas?  I swear that I feel a tiny bit of heat coming from the floor furnace even when it's off.  If so, I was thinking about shutting off the pilot in the summer.

If you do, make sure you turn off the gas at the furnace and not just blow out the pilot :D

I am sure you already know, but felt it had to be said just incase.
