We just received a wonderful press kit promoting the book "Images of America - Wrightwood and Big Pines". The authors are Pat Krig and Barbara Van Houten of Wrightwood.
The press kit also includes a copy of the book. I have thumbed through it, and I am really looking forward to reading it. A lot of great old photo's.
According to the press info; the authors will be doing book signings at the following locations on the dates provided.

It's a very nice book. It's well put together and very informative. It's also a nice visual history of Wrightwood. Lots of great photographs! :)

In today's Entertainment section of The Sun Newspaper (12-4-04) authors Pat Krig and Barbara Van Houten are the cover story feature article.

I worked at the Wrightwood Museum yesterday and got to look through this book there....
No one came to visit me (or the museum) in the two hours I was there :'(
You can buy the book at the museum if you are interested.

I was in Wrightwood today to visit my mother and sister . We stopped downtown and stopped at the old Evergreen hotel to get some ice cream and candy and my wife got the book for me.It's fantastic. The pictures are so descriptive.I've only paged through it but will definitley read it cover to cover

Bought this book over the memorial day weekend. Loved it, I learned a lot of things I never knew before. Also sad to see all those cool old cabins that are no longer.
The only thing I would liked to have seen is more info on where some of the cabins are located now (cross streets). Otherwise great book.
As an interesting side note the Krig's sold us our cabin on Barbara st, many years ago...
