I am looking to see if there are any walking groups up here. I want to get back to walking.
During the week I am limited to certain road since I have two little ones, so they have to be stroller friendly. Weekends I am more open since since my hubby is home. He can watch them while I walk.
Let me know if anyone is interested or if you can suggest certain street/roads I can take myself.

imho I would recommend going with a group if you aren't with your husband. Sometimes I see women on trails alone and I am afraid for them. I don't know the areas around Wrightwood well enough but if I were you I would carry a loaded bazooka if I went alone. ;D Don't be a victim. There are freaky people wandering around and you have kids to raise.

I've walked alone on the streets of Wrightwood for years. Maybe you should be more cautious on the trails, but honestly, I don't think there's any issue with walking the roads through town. I just watch out for loose dogs.

I don't believe that a man alone is any safer than a woman alone. A nut is a nut.
But I do believe it's safe to walk in town alone.
On the trail, I take my big dogs and/or pepper spray. If I don't go alone, I would hardly ever go.

Thanks ya'll for the advice! I will stick to the local town when alone and try to get together with a group if I even go on the trails. You have all been so kind and knowledgeable :2thumbsup:

A nut is a nut.
"Give me the peanuts and no one will get hurt."
I think I see a pattern here! ;D
I used to be able to name every nut that there was. And it used to drive my mother crazy, because she used to say, "FIGHT, if you don't stop naming nuts," and the joke was that we lived in Pine Nut, and I think that's what put it in my mind at that point. So she would hear me in the other room, and she'd just start yelling. I'd say, "Peanut. Hazelnut. Cashew nut. Macadamia nut." That was the one that would send her into going crazy. She'd say, "Would you stop naming nuts!" And Hubert (my hound dog) used to be able to make the sound, he couldn't talk, but he'd go "rrrawr rrawr" and that sounded like Macadamia nut. Pine nut, which is a nut, but it's also the name of a town. Pistachio nut. Red pistachio nut. Natural, all natural white pistachio nut...

I wouldn't be afraid of the local trails even if you are alone. Just take the natural precautions anyone should take when on the trail. I grant you that I always have my dog with me, but the only people I ever met on the trails are fellow dog walkers or back packers. No one would have bothered me.
