Does anyone know if Big Rock Creek is a good place to go to swim? How do you get there?

It's a good place for wading and playing in the water.. sometimes there's lots of riff raff there on the weekends, but then riff raff is everywhere

I wouldn't swim in Big Rock Creek unless you are wearing a type 3 haz mat suit because of the high bacteria and coliform counts in the water resulting from the diapers and other human waste. As stated, this is not a place to take the kids or be after dark. The intensive graffiti on the rocks and everything standing will be your first clue. Really stay away on the weekends.

Some people from my work just went there a couple of days ago and said it was nice.
Well, maybe we will go to devils punchbowl instead.

It's a nice place to go mid week.

We like to take the dogs there to swim around in the water. Weekends are horrible there. Kind of like the snow players in the winter but instead of sleds they have rafts! So of course there is tons of trash left behind like usual. If your going to go do it during the week. :-\

I've enjoyed going fishing there during the week.

Excellent comparision backincali
One of the scariest places I've ever went to on a weekend is the place down stream from the bridge on Angeles Forest hwy.. I think they call it Monkey Canyon. I'm sure there was about 10 different gangs there.

It would be good to inform the Forest Service of this activity. If they don't know, they probably would like to.
Is that area within the Forest?
-
oh I'm pretty sure the Forest Service knows about the hoodlums below the bridge. Since Forest Service LEO's haven't been issued RPG's (rocket propelled Gernande launchers) yet, they probably don't go near the place unless they have to.
and yes it's in the forest

You can swim in the beautiful, inground pool at Big Rock Creek camp, has a High Dive diving board too.. for about $7.00 a day! It's amazing, has shaded tables, shallow and deep end and that high dive is a really high, high dive. Always call ahead to make sure if there's room for you. If there are too many campers, they would ask that you come another day.
