My grandfather was very active in the Wrighwood community in the 60s. Here are some photos from the Wrightwood Mountaineer in 1966. I just found and scanned these articles. BTW, scotch tape does not do well on old paper...
I still have the hat and the plaque. My grandmother, Grace, passed on in 1976 and my grandfather, Al, passed on in 1996.

Forget that "Mountain High East" stuff...this place is still called Holiday HIll. It always grew the best moguls...and the Olympic Bowl wasnt' wimpy as it looks now.
Flash back to the time when the Oympic Bowl was a little more difficult..back to its beginnings:

The late 50s, and the challenge of riding these types of ski lifts during high winds:

Top of the hill. I sitll remember the upper cafe blown up after someone left a propane bottle unattented. The heavy old fashion cash register went flying almost a hundred yards away.

Remember this: This certain activity happened at Blue Ridge, but before this, Holiday HIll was the spot to see it each ski season. Does anyone remember what celebration this was?

wow, the platter-pull or platter puss as we would call it, wasn't even in yet. The skiing with the torches, my parents did every year, they were ski instructors at HH, and I taught the Heidi's kiddie ski school.
