How cool is that? I know that some species can live a long time (parrots for example) but it's still startling to see a 60-year-old. Not to mention a new mother... not sure I'd like to be starting over again at 60!

Thank you for this fascinating and informative post, SkierBob!  I missed it this morning, cuz of other crud that took up space in the "latest posts" section.  I'm glad I found this and got to read it.  You post some really neat stuff, and I don't read all of them, but this was a gem.   :2thumbsup:
