Does anyone else smell smoke in town? :-[
-
The lovely Mrs. Fudd and I smelled some earlier. It turned out a guy a couple of blocks over was bar-b-queing. At least, I think that's what we were smelling.

Today reports came in about ash and smoke in town, due to the fire in Riverside.
-
I smelled it too, Supermodel. Very faint, but smoke for sure.
-
Well, I guess it wasn't the BBQ afterall. All the way from Riverside huh?
-
Oh, Elmer, you were just hungry. I talked to the lovely Mrs. Fudd and she told me that you're always smelling barbecues, even when you only get chicken noodle soup for dinner; wishful thinking, I guess...

Ah yes, but it is homemade chicken noodle soup! Does anyone have any extra BBQ ribs hanging around?
-
send some this way if you find them. Since I quit smoking I've developed quite an appetite for --well--for let's see--FOOD. ;D

Depending where you live you might be able to smell the smoke from someone in my neighborhood who burns trash in their fireplace fairly often! 1st I smell woodsmoke then comes the smell of trash burning :(
-
That is gross :P
-
VERY!!!! Wish they wouldn't do it! And it always later in the evening when you can't see smoke coming from the chimney - so how to be sure exactly who it is? I pretty well know but proving it would be another thing.
-
I don't like that trashburning either. But try to keep in mind, that some people do not own a car (to take the stuff to the dump) and cannot afford to pay for trash pick-up!
-
Seems to me the small cost of trash service would be less than the cost of a chimney sweep as often as they would need it. OTOH, if they can't afford anything, they're probably not sweeping the chimney. Hope they're not a neighbor of mine.... :o

I'm smelling smoke big time just above town. Lots of wind, smoke seems to be coming from the west. Anyone know anything?

Griffith Park in L.A.

Just when outside and I am smelling smoke. Is any one else smelling it?
-
no
-
There's been a strong smell of smoke on the west side for the last couple hours.
-
Those of you who live near the Wrightwood Methodist Camp should be aware that the Fire Dept. still allows the camp to have campfires, purportedly because they have a large metal hood about 4 feet above the pit. It gets used 1-2 times per week, but 50% of the time the coals are still active in the morning.

I'm sorry GirlFarmer. That would probably be my barbeque. I'm on the west side near the top of Apple. I started it up around 4:15 and took the tri tip off at 6:20. I cleaned the bbq well but I guess I put too many coals in it. Man, that fire was HOT. I singed the outside but wow was the inside tender.
