Title: Big Pines History- Presentation at the Big Pines Hall on Saturday Aug. 27th 1PM

As part of the Grassy Hollow Summer Program Series, please join Wrightwood's own historian/author Barbara Van Houten in a talk on the history of the Big Pines area.

The presentation will be in the wonderful setting of the historic Big Pines Recreation Hall. See rare pictures, and hear stories about the area and it's people from the early days.

Date: Saturday, August 27th
Time: 1:00 PM
Location: Big Pines Recreation Hall/Lodge (in the same building as the visitor center, across from Mt. High West Ski Area)
Duration Program will last approximately 60-90 minutes.
FREE


Notes:

*Please park along Hwy 2-  near/adjacent to the Big Pines Lodge/visitor center building... 15 minute parking zones will not be enforced. No Adventure Pass is required for your vehicle.

*Please use restroom building, 100 ft across the street.
*The visitor center office will be closed on this day.

TODAY !

I'll be opening the station for Barbara today and am looking forward to learning more about the Big Pines area history that I can pass along to our visitors I encounter in the forest.

Come on up and sit a spell.. ;)

I learned a few things to get my dates correct while chatting with our visitors when I make contact. I was especially interested in the old seating benches that were directly across from the Big Pines hall. It brings a nice appeal to bring people to just sit and enjoy themselves and would provide some solace for the public.

It was a full seat attendance and everyone enjoyed Babara's talk and slide show. :2thumbsup:
