I'm in the tiny minority that believes that ending your own should be a basic human right (you have no right to life if you have no right to death), but that is not the way to do it.  There's a memorable documentary about jumpers from the Golden Gate Bridge; apparently they all regret it as soon as they step off the ledge.  I'm going to have nightmares and I wasn't even there.

Ditto, Tim, and you also don't have the right to make someone else suffer the act and memories of 'cleaning up after you', not to mention friends and family seeing what you've done.

Very traumatic.  Whether he realizes it or not, its
wise of the person to write about the experience he witnessed.  He's likely to have recurring disturbing dreams/nightmares.

Amen--There is a turnout on Sand Canyon Road in Santa Clarita just before it goes over Bear Divide and becomes Little Tujunga Road.  It was very popular for people to pull off there and put a gun to their head....  In my 5 year stint on the Angeles, there were at least 4 suicides at that one turnout.  We got tired of having to be the first responders....I can't even imagine what it is like to be an LA County Sheriff.
