Hello,
Does anyone know if the Hazardous Tree Removal program is still in effect and how to contact? I heard that Tim Tate was in charge but I cannot find any current numbers or contact info. I have a pine tree that has died and I think has Bark Beetle.
Thanks

Tim Tate from SB County Fire is no longer invloved with SB County Hazardous Trees as the program is no longer funded.
Call Calfire's Pilot Rock Bark Beetle program at 909 338-2812

Thanks, I just called and set up a work order. Unfortunately they said there is a backlog and it could take several months. I want the tree out ASAP to prevent spread so I may have to pay to remove.

Wayne that cleans chimneys also trims trees. You can ask him about removal. If it's large, you definitely want a contractor that carries liability insurance in case it goes down the wrong way. cheryl o7o

We have a local, licensed and bonded, who does excellent work.
Dan Day, number is 760-221-0244

We just had a large tree removed by Wayne (the chimney sweep). He does excellent work all around for a reasonable price. We were very pleased. He also turned the tree stump into a table base and gave us a large round wood cut to turn the former tree into an outdoor table. I'd ask him for a quote.

It's a very large pine right next to the house so I'll need licensed and bonded. I'll give both Wayne and Dan a call if I don't hear anything from Pilot Rock.

Chupp21... A few years back there was a tree trimming/removal contractor with a booth at the Disaster Day event sponsored by the Fire Safe Council. I got a bid from them. Now, I can't find their contact info. Perhaps someone that worked on the event can give it to you. They are bonded and licensed and they work with the state program that offsets costs. They're based down the hill .. but they do come up here. I was impressed with their bid and their professionalism. cheryl o7o

We had Tip Top Arborist come up and they gave a free estimate and their crew did an excellent job. They are licensed and bonded.

Neighbor used Tip Top to do maintenance on a very large oak tree and did a 1st class job.
Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for when using a quality licensed tree contractor.
