The book "Pray for Snow" that is presented on the So. Calif. Skiing History web site is quite interesting.  I would recommend it for anyone who is interested in this topic.  :)

The pray for snow book that is mentioned here is for sale at the hardware store in town.  I meet the author and she did some extensive research.

Thanks to everyone for posting all these great links on the history of skiing in Calif. Brought back some memories of when I was a real small girl,and my Dad would take me with him up to Kratka Ridge and Mt.Waterman on the weekends to ski with his Army buddies. 8)
