The annual snow removal guide from the San Bernardino public works Dept. arrived in the mail today. There is much good informative tips and checklists in the mailer to assist homeowners in preparing for the up coming winter and snow removal season.
On the Checklist on page three on the first line it states:
"Is your home well-stocked with supplies for seven days? If not, you are not prepared to be a mountain resident. Always keep extra food items for emergencies. Canned goods, powdered milk, dry staple goods are all a necessity."
seven days? Do they know something we don't about this El Nino?
-
I saw "seven days" and thought they were being overly optimistic but who knows. It is a good mailer just hope we need the information in it this year ;D

I have enough coffee and wine for 7 day - I am set! :coffee:

I have TP.. what's your address? cheryl o7o

An old fella once told me if you have nylons, TP, and bullets all else can be acquired. I wish I would have asked him to explain the nylons part of that.

I guess wearing the nylon could serve two purposes; wearing them over your face to conceal your identity or to keep you warm.

Interesting...they show Lone Pine Cyn Rd going OVER/THROUGH the wash and being plowed. Am I reading that wrong?
-
Well, I think it's cool that you guys in WW get all this information about what is going to be plowed and how to prepare for a storm. Meanwhile, back in P.H... I guess we're on our own. No pretty brochure.. no nothing. You know.. it snows here too! I do remember the 3' snow in 2008 .. and that wasn't in the drifts. There weren't any County trucks up here for over five days. cheryl o7o

I am prepared to be a Mountain resident during a snow event.

Thanks Wrightwood. Sure wish I could read that map. The print must be in minus font. The County does a good job on the 138 and Phelan Road. They also do a good job on Green Road which is where I live. 2008 was an anomaly. The whole town was snowed in. cheryl o7o
