Looking for a local company to trim and apple tree in my yard that is to close to electrical wires. Not touch them but getting close.
I tried calling the tree trim guy shown on this page but both numbers mail boxes were full so couldn't leave a message.
Anyone have a good local guy to do this for me?
thanks

If it's close to the powerlines, call SCE and they will trim them for free. If it's close to communications, call UIA or Spectrum and they will trim them for free.

I had a problem with their contractor last year. I met the contractor's assessment person on my property, and told her that I would need advance notice of work, due to my dog being in the back yard. I made sure that she wrote that on her paperwork.
Days later, I came home to find workers in my back yard, my back gate open, and my dog, scared to death, hiding in the back yard.
I called the supervisor, who came to my location.
I expressed my displeasure and concern.
I allowed them to finish their work, and leave me my wood.
I was not pleased.

Thanks so much everyone. I'm going to call Edison and see what they say.
Great advice and much appreciated.

Thanks for posting! Evidently they have some serious trimming to do in my yard....

I posted this request a couple weeks ago but need to ask again if anyone knows someone local who can trim an apple tree that is growing up into some electrical lines.
I've tried calling the Edison Co with no luck. Was told they are experiencing long waits to answer calls. Waited 2 hours twice with no luck.
Would like to pay someone local to trim this apple tree.
Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Dave, try Ben Balderrama, WW Mountain Tree Care, 760-792-5052. He's been local for 27 years, is reliable, and does a good job.

Finally able to contact Edison this morning and they will be out within the next 5 days to take a look and let me know if they can do it.
Sounds like they can.
If not, then I'll call Bob Balderama per ForestGals recommendation.
Really want to thank you all for your input.
Your replies make life much easier and I appreciate that.

I use Mark Helton, Wrightwood Arbor. Great work. He's in the Lion's Directory.

The neighbor used Tip Top to do maintenance on a very large oak tree a few times and did a 1st class job.
Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for when using a quality licensed tree contractor.

Make sure to check with the State that the contractor has a current license
