* Rainfall total are now electronically monitored by a custom heated rain gauge.
(Snow water equivalent (SWE) is the amount of liquid water contained in snow.)

The season rain year begins every year on October 1st and ends on September 30. WrightwoodCalif.com, Los Angeles Department of Public Works and the Forest Service use these dates for the rain season.

Our past 11 year average has been 16.05"
The Swarthout Valley long term average is in the mid 20 inches. Last years 7.35" didn't help much
