Title: HAMs needed for event communications
Post by: clint on Sep 05, 06, 04:36:49 PM
Hi everyone,

Want to get up REAL early on September 16th?

We could use a couple of people to help out with Check Point 1 for the AC-100 race.

You need to be at Inspiration point between 05:30 and 06:00 to help watch runners shoot through the check point and then radio their numbers to the packet radio operator. I will be there to help and it's a quick easy way to get your feet wet with event communications. This one is really easy, and you will be home by 9 or 10 that morning. We could use 3 or 4 people.

Clint,

Veronica and I thought (way back) that HAM would be a good story for the Daily Press to cover.  She would like to assign a reporter to do a story on the benefits of HAM in the event of a disaster.  Would you be interested in doing an interview for the paper?  Please let me know soon A.S.A.P...

Thanks,

Jason

Thanks Pete, 100mW would hit the packet guy if we were going to use 2 meter. But we will be using 220 for this one.

Jason,

I sincerely apologize, somehow I overlooked your post the other day and only saw Pete's.

No ignore intended.

I would be happy to help with a Ham Radio story.

GREAT!  Could you call Veronica at her work today.  She will be there from 11 am to 2 pm.  Her desk number is 951-6228.  She was wanting to get some information from you....

Sorry to post all of this "off topic" maybe I should have started a new topic.....
