Title: Battery Question
Post by: kew on Apr 05, 07, 11:20:24 PM
The battery that came with my FT-60 is a Ni-MH battery pack. The charging instructions say to allow the battery to completely discharge before recharging. Is this really true or is the manufacture doing a "CYA" move? I though rechargeable batteries with memories went out with the introduction of the lithium based batteries.

So my question is, "is it really necessary to run this battery down to completely discharged before recharging or can it be treated more like a Lithium battery and when you are finished using it you can put it on the charger even if its only been used for an hour or two?

Thanks John. A very interesting article.

It didn't make sense to me, with todays technology, they would be using a power source that required a full discharge on every cycle.
