Just watched the DC-10 drop Foscheck live on channel 4 - it was great to see the aircraft in the air, if only for an hour or so!

Had a coworker who lives between Little Mountain and the San Bernardino Mountains by Cal State called home to evacuate. Neighbors said the Lake Arrowhead fire charged over the hill and down into that area. Anyone know if this is true?

Little Mountain Fire has nothing to do with the Lake Arrowhead Fires.  They are twelve miles apart.  Little Mountain has burned every year for 30 years that I can remember.

Wildman - Are you still local or have you been deployed?

Calindy - Where is that photo taken from?  If it is from Phelan - it looks like the fire is very close to us. :-\

I have been activated but don't know my assignment.  Our Team was in the barrel but because of the San Diego Fires and LA fires, our team couldn't take the Lake A
rrowhead assignment.  A team from Northern CA came down.  I report in the morning.

Always.  The folks on the ground and in the air are the ones risking everything.  Anymore, I just talk about them.

Thanks for all you do Wildman!

Here is what we filmed up at Lake Arrowhead this past weekend.  I wonder what it's going to look like after this is all said and done....  :-\

Optical Illusion, and a 400mm telephoto lens! It (and this)was taken from the area of Baldy Mesa & Phelan Rd.

Thanks Angelwolf.  But right now all we are thinking about are the families and fire crews.... It's just so weird that we were up there this weekend having a great time, and then yesterday the winds picked up and I was having bad thoughts about fire.

I am currently taking my FEMA cert.  We may have to house and feed some of these folks down in the desert like we did it in October of 03.

Yes, I agree.  I am preparing some clothes from myself and my husband that we don't need for donation to those that have lost everything.

If anyone knows where these should be taken to, please post.

In 2003 when after we were evacuated (and luckily we got to go home), we took clothes, etc to the evacuation center which was the old NAFB, I guess it is the Orange Show now. Once the 15 is open I am sure we can take the items to the Orange Show.
