Somewhere I read that there's going to be a CERT class at the Pinon Hills Community Center.  Naturally, I forget the details.  So:

Does anyone know where the Community Center is?

Is it too late to get in?

Can I attend the Pinon Hills course, and then transfer to the Wrightwood group?

I did the exact same thing 18 months ago, so it is possible to attend another local course, and then associate yourself with the CERT group closest to your home.

The courses are taught by the same folks, and the course is standardized, so you will get the same education as everyone else.

Welcome to the CERT group, regardless of where you live!  It's all good information that we all should know.

May is Fire Extinguisher month.  Do you have fire extinguishers in your house and in your car?  Do you remember what P.A.S.S. means?

Remember that this month our CERT meeting will be a camp out on June 26 and 27th. There will be no Thursday night meeting.
We will be using a local site and will camp out Friday night and leave by noon on Saturday.   Please let us know by Saturday of this week (June 13)  if you are planning to attend and how many will be in your group.  Children and spouses are invited so we need a count of the total number coming with you.  This is a great time to check out all of your gear and see what works so you will be prepared in the event of a disaster!

This is a reminder that on this Thursday, June 25, there will not be a class at Sunrise.  This meeting was cancelled because of the campout scheduled for this weekend June 26 & 27.
 
The next regular class will be a refresher with Captain Bennett on Thursday, July 23, at 6:50PM at Sunrise Church.

All,
At our Leaders' meeting on July 6, it was decided that our exercise on October 17 would focus on scenarios that would allow CERT members to practice the skills they have been trained in.  We also decided that Divisions A&B, C&D, E&F would work together at least part of the time.  We are therefore asking you to get together and suggest scenarios that would be Division relevant and utilize resources from both Divisions to complete.  We are meeting on July 23 at 6PM (before our regular meeting) to review everyone's planning.  October 17th is not that far away so we need to focus our next meetings on preparing for this exercise.  Your ideas and suggestions are welcome!  Our goal is to have a meaningful exercise that will focus on the training we have received.
