Birds' Emergency Calls Signal Friends, Foes
« on: Dec 15, 09, 01:39:12 PM »

We've witnessed this first hand about 15 years ago when a friendly neighborhood Scrub Jay warned us about a rattlesnake nearby. This guy would eat peanuts right out of hands and even fly indoors for treats.

The bird was relentless in it's effort to warn us while we were doing some vegetation reduction and sure enough a 4 foot rattlesnake was in the brush.
