There is also a stoppage on the 215 and reroute.

Just came up Hwy2 and they had us pull over to put on chains but then before we were finished all the CHP left and I'm assuming lifted chain control since no one was being stopped anywhere. Took the chains back off and made it up no problem.

Roy with SB County Roads is very good about letting us know when LPC is closed and reopened. It remains closed. Later today it may reopen. He usually lets us know in advance so watch the thread.

We didn't get much snow but did have off and on snow rain. LPC could be washed out. I wouldn't expect a ton of traffic coming up to play in 2 inches of wet snow.

I was wrong. There is bumper to bumper traffic on Hwy 2 now. Guess it must be a great view from down the hill.

Coming home to Wrightwood this morning, I hit the bumper-to-bumper at Desert Front Rd and it took me a 1/2 hour to get to the school. The sign says Lone Pine cnyn is still closed.

some of you might not realize that 10" of snow fell at Big Pines... so there's alot more snow just up the road!

Snowave, did it fall on some people?...because judging from the racing CHP with lights flashing & more than 3 emergency vehicles going up Hwy 2, I'm pretty certain something terrible must have occured up the road in the last hour.

I think it's mainly been ski area injuries today, although CHP usually doesn't respond to those, to my knowledge.

They are towing TONS of illegally parked cars today up in the Big Pines area.

I took Lone Pine down the hill this morning and it was more sandy than anything else with some small pebbles but nothing big. It got a little squirrelly around the dirt-laden curves, but I made it no problem.
