« on: Sep 19, 24, 05:19:03 PM »
Wrightwood CSD Parking Lot
12 Noon

Come join us for a community-hosted charity event featuring local DJs and singers, benefiting our neighbor victims of the Bridge Fire and honoring our first responders who saved our town! We’ll have “Fire DJ Sets”, (pun intended) guest singers, line dancing, karaoke, back yard games, and events all with the goal of raising money for our neighbors who lost property and stimulating our local businesses who lost a whole week of work. We’ll be recognizing our local heroes with the out which we would not have a town so come thank many of them in person! It’s last minute and starts at noon this Saturday, but we’ve all proven how great we are at last minute. Set your calendar aside and bring your families out where we can finally come together and enjoy our town which we’ve missed so badly! See you all there!!

For those planning this event..nice jesture...but itis it appropriate to have this weekend.??? we are not 100% contained. Only half way there folks. If you get a swarm of people not from here for a concert, and we are still under "evac warnings" getting off mountain would not be easy.
Take care everyone

I am in full agreement with Tursiops. Nice gesture...but too soon.
There are many safety factors to consider. Is it even safe to let our children and dogs out in the yard, or walk them, with so much ash, chemical residue, perhaps weak branches, animal remains, etc.  around? I could go on and on.
We need our energy to tend to re-establishing safety and normalcy, and a greater percentage of containment.
If it rains, as it is doing elsewhere, clean-up and other hazards are even more affected.
Let's be patient and full of gratitude that we've come this far. Then, we can celebrate with gratitude and joy.
