This is just a small note to clarify something in this article. When I used the word "nasty divorce", my intention was NOT to attack Chuck Himber's (owner of Mile High Pizza) in any way. I was referring to "nasty divorce" only to relate how it subsequently affected the Himber's business there. Chuck had helped many in the village in times of need. He started an Italian restaurant in Spring Valley not long after he and Roz split up and sold their home on Cardinal. He moved to the beach, bought a live-aboard boat and started  teaching.  He has since sold the boat, gotten married and it is believed that he lives in the Marina Del Rey beach community.

Wonderful reading as always! Thank you so much -- I'll never look at the Mile High Pizza building again the same way. (I'll still love their pizza -- but now I know the history too.)
