I am relatively new to Wrightwood. Can anyone tell me the types of pine trees that grow here? I would like to care for the ones on my property to make sure they stay healthy. I already had a deep watering system put in, but am curious about any other ways I can care for them. Thanks for any help.

Jeffery pine is the dominate tree in the community.
In the Wrightwood area we have bigcone Douglas-fir, sugar pine, Jeffery pine, ponderosa pine, Coulter pine, black oak, single-leaf pinyon pine, incense cedar, white fir, and canyon live oak.

Can you post pics of them? I am always walking past all these different trees and never know their names. :)

There are very nice articles by Jane Strong (Janie, here on the forum) about some of our local trees in the Nov., Dec., and current Jan. issues of the Big Pines Volunteer Newsletter (our own RobertW is the amazing editor :bow: )
