Title: Crowder Canyon in the Cajon Pass - archaeological sites date back to 500 B.C.

Located in the Cajon Pass between the San Bernardino and San Gabriel Mountains, some of these archaeological sites date back to 500 B.C. The Cajon Pass has been a natural corridor for trade and transportation for thousands of years.

It is important to recognize the prehistoric (Before written records) use of the Cajon Pass and the surrounding areas.  Early explorers and later settlers followed well established Native American paths which later became the highways and freeways that are in use today.
