Anyone know what movie is being shot? This was taken from Inspiration Point towards the set west up Hwy 2. They found a good spot with all the flowers...

All of that for a commercial!? Had to be 20 cars, support vehicles, the most serious looking camera drone I've ever seen with dual wooden blades at every corner, multiple CHP units. Wow...

At monthly billing rates of $75-100 a month they surely shouldn't have an issue with cash flow.

I noticed when there's filming going on, there are plenty of cops in town. Maybe next time there's an emergency mention there's filming going on, and they'll show up.

CHP (and other law enforcement agencies) are hired for set security and road security and safety. Because Hwy 2 is a State Hwy, CHP officers can temporarily shut it down (with the correct permits in place) so filming can take place. They are off duty and are paid by the production company. Off duty CHP officers are also hired by the construction companies that do the road work on Highways and freeways. All the Officers wages and benefits are paid by the private company and the state (or local PD/SO) gets an administrative fee and rental for vehicle. I have no doubt they would act if they witnessed a serious crime taking place but their normal scope of practice is security for the movie/construction site.

Good to know. I take back what I was thinking. ;D
