Well guys... we live in the days when these fake news accounts are just going to grow. So, we should check with snopes or any other site you trust before passing them on. Just this morning I received an e about how in 20 years Muslims will have enough votes to take over this country. I pointed out that Muslims are currently one percent of the U.S. population and they'd have to do a lot of schtupping to take over the vote in 20 years. I also pointed out that most of the Muslims that have immigrated to the U.S. .. came here to escape the extremists. It is easy to fall into this stuff because it plays on fear. cheryl o7o

Mine is anecdotal evidence based on a few acquaintances, but it seems to me that most Arab Muslims come to the USA 1) because they can (their families are already well off), and 2) to pursue further economic opportunity in a well-run country.
On what do you base your claim that most are here to escape extremists?

Cheapskate: Good point and good question. Friends of friends and watching the refugees fleeing Syria is my answer. I also knew people who were able to leave Germany in the 30s and Iran in the 70s. They were well-to-do. They were leaving extremist policies.

Sorry for the false post! I failed to check it out before posting the email and when I "vetted" it I sent emails to other posts but neglected--forgot--I posted on the forum.

I guess I thought the topic had evolved into false and alarmist email chains. It's easy to get sucked into those. It's happened to me too.
