Fire fighters are working a 200 acre fire northeast of Big Bear, CA. Currently the fire is not a threat to residences and there are no road closures.
Firefighters are being supported by 7 Airtankers, 6 six helicopters and Air Attack.

That's an excellent look at the excellent loading and fueling facilities at the old Norton AFB. For local fires, the turn around is measured in minutes not hours. You also see the DC-10 Very Large Air Tanker taking off and a couple of the Next Generation (jet Powered) tankers....BAE-146's taking off as well. As the chopper lands, you can see a couple of the older legacy ships that use prop motors that are being phased out.

SMOKE ADVISORY
Issued Monday, June 19, 2017
This advisory is in effect through Tuesday morning. SCAQMD will issue an update if additional information becomes available.
A brush fire, named the Holcomb Fire, is burning northeast of Big Bear Lake in the Eastern San Bernardino Mountains. The burn area was estimated this evening to be over 850 acres and growing, with no containment. Winds are from the south and smoke is lofting deep in the atmosphere and moving to the north into the mountains and toward the high desert. Air quality may reach Unhealthy levels in areas directly impacted by smoke.
Areas of direct smoke impacts in the South Coast Air Basin and Unhealthy air quality will likely include:
Portions of the Eastern San Bernardino Mountains (Forecast Area 38).

Power is starting to fluctuate all over the Big Bear lake area. Possibility of power lines down in the fire zone. Bear Valley Electric reporting 24-48 hours before full power restoration; requesting Minimal power usage when it does come back up. Possibility of rolling blackouts until lines can be assessed and repaired.
Suddenly the Wrightwood power outage on Monday looks pretty reasonable...
