Did anyone else mail in the card before October 1 deadline requesting to be grandfathered into the standard rate tier only to find now that they are being changed to the TOU 8-5 plan?
I tried calling SCE and could get nowhere in the automated voice system to talk to anyone about the rate plan.
I thought it was curious earlier this year when SCE was advertising the new rate structure that they sent out a notice explaining the plan with a card to return if you wanted to stay on your current tiered plan. Then a few weeks later they sent out a second reminder notification but WITHOUT a card to return requesting to stay on current rate.

I did mine on-line prior to the deadline. I am still standard rate tier due to my usage. It was the better option.

They did something like this a year or two ago, switched us on to TOU, guaranteed a refund if TOU was more expensive.
We tried really hard to avoid the high-rate times, tried to make it work. It was a complete wash.
I'd be happy with TOU if it saved any money. We switched back to tiered.

SCE has a tool on their website that will compare your actual usage for the past year and show you what each plan would cost.
