...EXTREME HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING...
* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 100
possible. Hottest Wednesday and Thursday.
* WHERE...Eastern San Fernando Valley, Eastern San Gabriel
Mountains, Los Angeles County San Gabriel Valley, Santa Clarita
Valley, Western San Fernando Valley, and Western San Gabriel
Mountains and Highway 14 Corridor.
* WHEN...From Tuesday morning through Thursday evening.
* IMPACTS...There is a high risk for dangerous heat illness for
anyone, especially for the very young, the very old, those without
air conditioning, and those active outdoors.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures are expected to cool slightly
after Thursday but will remain well above normal through next
weekend.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to the
middle to upper 90s possible. Hottest Wednesday.
* WHERE...Eastern San Fernando Valley, Eastern San Gabriel
Mountains, Los Angeles County San Gabriel Valley, Santa Clarita
Valley, Western San Fernando Valley, and Western San Gabriel
Mountains and Highway 14 Corridor.
* WHEN...From 8 AM Tuesday to 9 PM PDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...There is a high risk for heat illness for sensitive
populations including the very young, the very old, those without
air conditioning, and those active outdoors.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Higher humidity will have the potential to
add to the heat discomfort in the afternoons. Temperatures are
expected to cool slightly after Thursday but will remain well
above normal through the weekend.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
