Title: Ring Tail Cat LiveCam

and a small red light near the Suet Feeder and fountain.

The two sightings of the Ring Tail were approximately 10:25 PM

Now we just need the little guy to stop by.

The picture is dark - as it needs to be. The single red Christmas bulb is near the suit feeder.

The picture being broadcast appears to be clear. You should be able to see the bird feeding area, including some peanuts on the round disk.

I can see the lighted bird feeding area in the picture in the message with the time stamp, but the pop-up window accessed from the box in the masthead is still all black.

you should be getting a pop up window that looks like this:

What browser and version are you using?
If you're using an older version of Netscape try IE.

Post by: BirdSong on Jan 25, 03, 11:48:22 PM: Thanks for your help, WW. Works fine in IE. Played around a bit and found that you need to have Java enabled for it to work. OK in Netscape now with Java on.

If so you saw a wild Ring Tail Cat going at the suet feeder and drinking from the fountain for nearly an hour. (Also devored 2 dead mice, that I had found a few days ago)

No I wasn't up but did catch it on video tape. I'll get the tape transferred to an AVI file soon. The quality of the video is only okay due to a defective camera. A new camera has been ordered but will take a couple days to get.

Post by: Wrightwood on Jan 29, 03, 12:24:55 PM: A new "Night Vision" camera and "Infrared Illuminator" have been installed in the area of the Ring Tail Cat observations.

The Ring Tail Cat LiveCam may appear bright but it's actually dark with no visible light showing.

At least, I am happier, since I can see more now. Thanks, WW for all your time, money and expertise on arranging this visual and vicarious treat for humans.

The motion sensor sounded this morning at 1:10am as the Ring Tail Cat returned after a month of absence.
The video was captured on VHS tape using an Infrared Illuminator and night vision camera.

The movies can be download and require Windows Media Player to be installed and working.
