Hey there, all. I've got a question for anyone who camps at Table Mountain regularly. What kind of day and night time temperatures can I expect the end of June and the end of August?
Thanks!

Probably 80 in the day ( a warm day) and 60's in the early morning...maybe a high 50. Should be just right.

You can check out the temps for the past years here:

Last year was quite warm with daytime temps in the 90s and yet night time temps getting into the 40s.

Hi Vampy,
Can ya do me a favor if you camp at Table Mtn? Please tell Denny the camp host that Micheline said hi & that she misses you!!!
There are some nice hikes from that campground too so make sure Denny heads ya in the right direction. Don't forget your bug repellent!
Labor Day Wknd. Saturday night around 7 p.m. the Grassy Volunteers (love them!) do a Miner Vincent program at the amphitheater that you have just got to see!

Cool - will do! Thanks for all the info. I can't wait!!

Thanks vampy! Make sure to let me about your trip to Table Mtn. k?

How will you get to the campground this summer with 138 closed. We love that campground and didn't go last year and will not this year because of the closures. We have a trailer so LPC is out of the question right?

Just a reminder, the 138 will be open between Phelan and Wrightwood this summer. The closure this year will be east of Hwy 2. If you have a trailer, you can take the 15 Fwy north to Hwy 395 and then take either Phelan Rd. or Hwy 18 west to Hwy 138. If you are heading east on Hwy 138 from anywhere west of Phelan, this year's closure will not prevent you from getting to Wrightwood.

We camped at Table Mountain this weekend and it was so beautiful!
It is one of our favorite places to camp and it is right in our back yard!

I am so glad to hear we can still get up there this summer. We love camping there as it is so close to the little town and we love going to the shops and such. It will be the first time for our new 26' trailer so I am not sure how many loops we can even manage to get around so we may have to stay up towards the front. Just glad we can go still. Thanks for the info.

Campingmom,
We have a 30 ft. motorhome and had no problem getting around or finding a spot for us. We loved site #68 or 69!!
Happy Camping,

those are some of our favorites too!!! Yeah, can't wait to go. Everyone we have ever invited up there has always been amazed at how close it is and yet so pretty up there.

We just went camping down in the small town of Julian this past weekend and while we were there we just kept saying how much this looked like Table Mountain and how we could have saved ourselves 3 hours driving by just going to Table Mountain!!! It has been our favorite campground for many years and having it be in "our backyard" (well practically) is even better!
Have fun!

Officially the lots at table Mt. are 24 feet long. I can see a lot of people overhanging for that last 6 feet..... That should give people a fair idea; tongue to back wheel.

Plans fell through for our Bishop Camping Trip so we are thinking of just hopping up the road to Table Mountain for a few days. Can anyone tell me if they require reservations at this time of the year? I haven't been for about 15 years and don't remember.
Thanks,
-
You do not need reservations this time of the year and even the rest of the season they only reserve certain sites and leave plenty open for first come first serve.
It is fantastic this time of the year. We have been up there several times this summer and completely enjoyed it every time!

Thank You :2thumbsup:

When does Table Mtn. campgound close. I thought it might be fun to come up for Thanksgiving but I am wondering if it is closed by then. Our trailer has heat so I think we'd be fine. Any advice. Too cold by then?

Table Mountain Campground is closed long before Thanksgiving.

The past few seasons they closed on November 15, 2007. In regards to cold temps it depends on what you think is cold. It is not unusual for the mountains to get into the mid 30's to 40's at anytime during the summer. I am most comfortable in the 20 - 50 degree range of temps. But some folks think they are freezin to death at 60 degrees.
The manager of Table Mtn, Lake & Mtn Oak is Daryl Walters. He is a very nice man. You can reach him @ 3526 if you would like to know for sure when they are planning on closing up for the season.
I hope this helps...
