looks like it's been a while since anyone has been here... however, I am new here, just to the forum, long time resident.  Any help on how to post a picture.  Do you have to have your own website in order to direct the forum too?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Just took the shot in solarized.  I love it, you can see Jackson lake down there. The slight overcast that day really made the difference in the sky.

Nice crop of the Mormon Rocks photo.  The sky really pops! I always wondered how the little potholes were made by water so long ago.

I did notice the waterfall(s) - it looks like there are 2 of them, a skinny one in the center, and a wider one on the right-hand side of the photo.

If there is still water trickling, bet it made some wicked icicles in these freezing nights. It's all covered with snow now?

The basket weave is awesome. Photoshop? Or did you print the picture, cut it into strips, weave them perfectly together and then take another snapshot

:D
Title: Re: Wrightwood photos?
Post by: Wrightwood on Dec 12, 07, 06:58:27 AM
Hard to say about the water running. My guess is that it's frozen as the temperatures have been pretty cold for the past week.

The basket weave was done in Photo Shop and seemed to suite the image.

That's an incredible pic, SD.  The colors are just amazing.   :2thumbsup:  It actually looks like some artist's exaggerated rendition of a sky painting.

I never see sunrises, I have to wait till sunset to get my dose of sky color.   ;)
Title: Re: Wrightwood photos?
Post by: Surfer_Dude on Nov 20, 10, 01:21:08 PM
Thanks FG,
I had to flip a U and go back to the house to get a camera.  I have cameras at work but I didn't have one on me.  In this shot, I did not boost the saturation or vibrancy.  This is close as I could get to how it actually looked, the local houses were all glowing gold with the reflection of the sky.   It was more amazing than captured.

You might want to try it even with the sun, you just might get an artistic serendipitous flare shot.

SD, hope you don't mind, but I set this pic as my desktop background for now.  I thought it was looking down LPC, but when the pic is enlarged, it looks more like 2 lanes, like on the freeway.  Just curious where you shot the pic.

That's gorgeous.  My co-workers don't understand why I make the commute to live up here, that view is one of the many reasons.  Because no matter how much pain or sadness I see at work, (ARMC), that view just melts the stress off, and life is new again.
Thankyou surferdude.
