Phone lines/landlines from Frontier are out this morning in the Jackson Lake/Big Pines area.
Anyone else experiencing outages from Frontier for landlines?

Service was restored midday.

For anybody without power today:

SCE planned Outage # 000800310383.
I was notified by email, and my home is in the East Canyon area...not sure how big the planned/maintenance outage is.
Originally scheduled for 9am to 4pm today
Update email yesterday indicated 9am to 10am
But, it seems like the power outage may have started later than expected...I have solar so I didn't notice exactly when it went out, but I can tell from my phone app that I am still "off grid" now, as-of about 10:15 am.

Checking the Edison outage link, they indicate power went out at 9:54...so assuming the work goes as planned, it will hopefully be back on around 11am.

9:54 sounds right, it was about that here.  We're a bit west of the Community Garden.

No solar here, but I do have a UPS.  The 'fridge is set to 36 degrees, so I have plenty of time for that, mostly wanted the furnace "up."

Important loads are drawing right about 500 watts, with a peak at 900 or so.  A 2200 watt portable generator runs that just fine.

It'd be convenient to have a transfer switch, but I think I'd have to have a bigger (more expensive) generator to handle loads that I wouldn't care about.  Too many things share the same circuit.

Edison's site now estimates power back on at 1:00pm.

It looks like the outage is west of town in L.A. county, and 3,171 people means a lot of us are powered off.

Back on for me in the East Canyon area too. My system says it went out around 6am and I was back on grid around 6:40.

The last outage was unusual in that they turned off most of the town for at least the first half of the outage.  I noticed later that they said that only 800 were out, vs. 3700 customers at the start.

Most of what they're doing is replacing poles with stronger ones.  Once they're all swapped out they'll replace the uninsulated wires that things can fall on and short out with insulated lines.

In the meantime, for us west of about Pine, the circuits tend to run between east-west streets, and when we're out, neighbors across the street all have power.

Email notification from Edison, in the East Canyon area of Wrightwood, says that another maintenance outage is planned for very early morning on Monday, 4/29:

I got the same one for the area north of SR-2. My guess is this is a whole town outage to remove the generators
